Mr. Kanoria is known for his leadership in industry and business, being widely responsible for policy formulation and interaction with government across industries and countries. Mr. Kanoria was the President of the Indian Sugar Mills Association (ISMA) and Advisor to Government of India for International Sugar negotiations under the aegis of GATT. He was deeply associated with formulating sugar policy for India for several years. A widely respected business leader Mr. Kanoria has been a member of the governing committees of the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FICCI), All India Organization of Employers (AIOE), the Cement Manufacturers Association (CMA), the Indian Sugar Mills Association (ISMA), and others. He was a member of the World Economic Forum (WEF), The President of ISMA, Advisor to Government of India for international Sugar Trade under the aegis of GATT and the President of the Rotary Club of Bombay. He was the President of the Rotary Club of Bombay He is a graduate in Economics and Political Science, with significant interests in sustainable development. He is an ardent traveller, trekker, lover of nature, golfer and gardener.

His experience spans engineering industries, structural engineering, capital equipment manufacturing/machine building, and sectors including FMCG, pharmaceuticals, chemicals, FMCD, printing and packaging, infrastructure and construction, earthmovers, building materials, building decorative materials, sanitary ware and tiles, glass and glass fittings. An innovative thinker and strategist, Dr. Jagtap has a solid track record of identifying new avenues, driving strategic initiatives, and turning around rapidly growing businesses. He possesses a strong skill set in effectively leading and managing businesses in compliance with corporate norms, while formulating and implementing policies and strategies that boost both top-line and bottom-line performance. His expertise includes executing complete business turnarounds. He has successfully launched several business verticals from scratch in both national and international markets, and has played a key role in forging international collaborations, partnerships, joint ventures, and has been actively involved in mergers and acquisitions. Dr. Jagtap is known for championing new technologies, scaling operations, building high-performance teams, implementing cost-effective mechanisms, and setting up sound business and revenue models. His core competencies include working capital optimization, debt control, business cycle management, productivity enhancement, lean manufacturing, and efficient, scientific project management. A firm believer in team management and an ethical leadership approach, he emphasizes talent development and capability building to drive sustainable organizational growth. Dr. Jagtap has been recognized with several credentials and awards, including Six Sigma Black Belt, ISO 9000, ISO 14000, OHSAS 18000, QMS Lead Auditor, Internal Auditor, and Best Performer of the Year, among others.
